The Narrow Path

There are specific scriptures in the Bible that led me to understand that Salvation is more than just believing in Jesus and having faith in salvation.

There are many verses that say:

"If thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." - Acts 16:30 - 31

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16

"He that believeth on me hath everlasting life." - John 6:47

"If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." - Romans 10:9

Accept that there are equally as many verses saying:

"Enter ye in at the straight gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction. Because straight is the gate and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." -Matthew 7:13 (KJV)

Jesus describes eternal life as knowing the Father and Jesus Christ. - John 17:3

"Abide in me, and I in you." Jesus compares the relationship to a vine and its branches; our life and fruit come from remaining connected to Him. - John 15:4- 5

"I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine." - John 10:14

"If ye love me, keep my commandments." - John 14:15

"Faith without works is dead." - James 2:26

Jesus also warns by saying that not everyone who calls Him "Lord" will enter the kingdom, but "he that doeth the will of my Father" - Matthew 7:21

What leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." -

Matthew 7:13 -14

"Then I will tell them plainly, I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!" - Matthew 7:23 (NIV)

I've been on this journey with Jesus for well over a decade. I have personally seen all these scriptures come to life. I know for a fact that Jesus came here to pay the ultimate price for past, present, and future sins. As well as coming here to be the example for living in the light, how to find the light, as well as stay in the light without falling back into darkness.

When we follow Jesus, we know it is because He is leading us out of darkness and back into the light with God. It doesn't happen overnight because each and every one of us is dealing with being stuck in our own personal level of darkness. Everything depends on what you've been through, what you've been exposed to, and what you personally need to let go of in order to get into the light with God.

If you don't know my story, nine years ago I suffered three traumas to my brain in less than five years. Jesus was relentless in telling me, "His Father" designed the brain to function properly in the light. He said that if I followed Him, I would experience a neurological recovery. Desperate to find reality, I followed Jesus' lead.

In the early years, I thought believing and understanding Scripture was what it was all about. When I wasn't healing, I went back to the drawing board. It was then I realized I must obey the teachings being taught to me. For whatever reason, that reality didn't click until years into my journey. Once I started obeying the scriptures, I began to heal.

Today I live in the light, and the neurological struggles I once had are completely gone. My brain has finally healed after being trapped in chronic psychosis for five awful years due to a doctor overdosing me on cortisone steroid injections.

I know for a fact how narrow the path really is. It took me a long time to get into the light with God. I know that belief and faith in Jesus Christ alone will not save you.

True Salvation occurs by making a choice. Do you want to stay in darkness, or find the light? Finding the light requires taking action through acts of obedience. Everyone's journey will be different. Comparing your journey to someone else's is just foolish. Only you and the Lord know how far you have to go to reach the light.

I would be very careful putting your Salvation into the hands of church members. I have learned that the truth is a far different reality than what they are teaching.
