Christmas Party Humor
I will never forget our annual salon Christmas party. The week leading up to the party, I had been complaining to God about something. My exact words while venting to Him were, "I can't fix stupid." I probably repeated that phrase five times that week.
While at the party, we played a game where everyone stood around in a big circle. The objective of the game was to unwrap this huge ball of cellophane containing a massive number of presents.
There were probably fourteen or so people standing in this circle, and I was one of the last people to unwrap the ball of gifts. It was time, and whatever gifts fell out when it was your turn, you got to keep.
Finally, it's my turn. I started unwrapping the cellophane, and a few gifts fell to the floor. I didn't think much of it; it was a cute game, and we all had fun playing it. I grabbed my gifts off the floor, and when I looked down at what I received, my mouth hit the floor.
I received a small makeup pouch that had the words, "I can't fix stupid in bold print. At the bottom, it read, "but I can fix your hair."
In that moment, I laughed out loud because God made sure to let me know He heard me. I also learned that when God wants to deliver a message, His timing is spot on. I don't know how He timed that game to perfection for that bag to drop out at the exact moment I was positioned in the lineup. It's mind-boggling to think about. All I know is that it meant a lot to me that He wanted me to know He was listening and that He heard me.
