Workplace Drama
I took three years or so to work on my recovery after my cerebellar stroke. Then, I decided it was time to return to work.
At first, everything seemed normal. Then I started getting called to the office. Not once, not twice, not three times. The general manager wouldn't tell me who was causing problems for me. All that was said was I wasn't doing my job along with a whole list of other complaints. This went on and on until one day I walked into the back of the salon and started praying.
"Lord, I don't know who is starting all this drama about me, but I place Ulta in your hands — In Jesus name I pray, amen."
Three days later, I walked into work, and all the girls were talking amongst themselves. I walked up and immediately was asked, "Did you hear what happened?" I looked baffled and said, "No, what happened?"
They told me that the ceiling fell in over the fragrance department. One of the girls from our salon called H.R. to report that the situation wasn't handled properly. Our "new" general manager fired her on the spot. Everyone stood around with shocked expressions because that lady had been with Ulta for years.
Later that day, our general manager grabbed my arm, pulled me aside, and said, "You no longer have to worry about your job anymore because the woman causing problems for you no longer works here."
I froze in my tracks, all I could think about was I just prayed for God to handle this situation three days ago. As I walked away, extreme fear rose up all over my body. I didn't say a word to anyone about the prayer. I just knew in my heart that God made all of this happen.
I was quiet the rest of the day. That was the first time I had ever seen God be ruthless in my defense. I also know that was the day when true fear of the Lord took root within me. Not only was He with me, but He was also protecting me.
That experience changed the way I viewed God as a whole. He is serious about protecting His children. I called upon Him, and He showed up for me in a way I will never forget.
Looking back on that experience, I realize I didn't know who was causing me problems, but God did. I didn't have to know who it was or what they were saying. I just needed to pray about the problem and allow Him time to resolve it.
I was taught that the enemy was showing up in my life because of my walk with the Lord. His goal is to destroy any area of our life that he can. When problems arise, and they will, know to immediately pray about the situation and know in your heart it will be handled.
